How to start a car with a bad fuel pump

Know how to start your automobile so you can bring it to a repair if you experience the signs of a faulty fuel pump, which we’ll describe later. In general, exerting manual external pressure is the only reliable method of doing this.

There are two more approaches, although they could produce inconsistent results.
♦ External manual pressure In essence: this technique aims to manually apply an external pressure source to simulate the pressure required to start your car. Connecting an air pump to your gas tank and operating it until the tank is pressurized is the simplest way to accomplish this.

♦ Keep the engine’s temperature constant: Allowing the engine to cool down a little bit is one thing you can try because really high temperatures are a sign that your fuel pump might be failing. By doing so, the fuel pump will be able to restart without the requirement for pressure.

♦Fuel pressure gauge attached: Attach a fuel pressure gauge to your car’s engine if you have one or decide to get one. This will enable you to determine whether the pump is genuinely at fault and may also assist in restarting your engine.

As was already said, the only approach that consistently works in this situation is the application of manual external pressure. The other two are also options, although they might not always be successful.
