What is a Corner Light?

The most underappreciated of all vehicle lights are supposed to be corner lights, also known as cornering lights. Since they are not required by law, they are less prevalent and generally less obvious than other types of vehicle illumination. But what do they actually do?

Cornering lights are actually incredibly helpful tools for drivers, despite not being thought of as necessary to your driving experience. These lights help the driver when rounding corners, as their name suggests. They offer extra lighting by illuminating the portion of the road adjacent to the car, which makes them a particularly useful safety element when turning bends and changing lanes.

Corner lights are typically situated close to the front fenders of your car, though occasionally you might also find them towards the back. You don’t need to bother about turning them on when making turns because they are typically integrated into your vehicle’s front side marker and/or indicator lights and will illuminate when the turn signal is triggered.
